Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Officer to report to the Risk & Compliance Manager and coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Company's Health and Safety policy. The position will ensure that the Company and its Contractors comply with the requirements of legislation by monitoring contractor SHE compliance, attend and report at safety meetings and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance by conducting site audits. The SHEQ Officer coordinates and participates in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses, audit and conduct Review Contractor Risk Assessment. The SHEQ Officer monitors the implementation of Safe Work Procedures and maintains and updates all relevant SHEQ department administrative duties.
What you will do
Compile and maintain safety files and other related relevant files for projects
Conduct pre implementation risk assessments on new sites if and when required and identify risk mitigation measures in conjunction with managers of business units as well as contractors
Review Internal/Contractor Risk Assessment. Visit sites to assess work for compliance to specifications.
Conduct SHE Committee Meetings (plan, scheduled and review).
Attend contractor meetings and meetings with clients and report on out-comes (Kick-Off, Site Meetings).
Investigation and Corrective Actions Reporting.
Report to the Risk & Compliance Manager, daily / weekly on corrective action taken by Internal business units/Contractors and close out of NCR reports.
Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency. Maintain records of such drills, providing recommendations for emergency response improvements.
Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence.
Assist in developing all the required documentation, operational checks and reports for the SHE Management System to be compliant with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001/2018 and ISO 14001/2015 standards, including corrective and preventive measures (as a team with the Risk & Compliance Manager and / or Safety Officer of contractors)
Monitor contractor performance and work sites by conducting continuous site visits and audits and compiling relevant reports.
Establish Safe Work Procedures; Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Instructions for tasks as and when required.
Planning and coordinating SHEQ related training for regional staff in conjunction with HQ strategies. (Bookings, ensuring payments etc.).
Maintaining and updating all relevant SHEQ department administrative folders pertaining to regional accountabilities & responsibilities i.e. (Quality Management & Compliance System, Document Register, file audits etc.).
Health and safety documentation for authorities.
What you will bring
Experience of working as a SHEQ officer.
Competency trainings up to date.
Risk assessments, mitigations and changes in procedures to be done.
Fluency in English language.
Availability to travel.
