The Data Center Security Specialist (DCSS) is responsible for securing and protecting the Iron Mountain Data Center. The DCSS supports the implementation of an effective security program to mitigate risk, safeguard personnel, protect tangible and intangible assets, ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and ensure continuity of operations in support of customer contracts. Daily activities include management of all physical security systems, including intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and life safety. Close collaboration with the Data Center technical staff is required. In addition, timely and accurate reporting of all potential risks or threats to IM assets, response to safety and security related incidents, and liaison with public sector first responders is essential.
Must become knowledgeable of Data Center operational procedures and corporate safety, risk and security practices and standards thorough analysis of security risks. Must be experienced with computers, able to understand basic computer networking and database concepts, knowledge of automated security intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, lighting and other related systems and equipment, possess an understanding of life safety issues, and have a general understanding of fire suppression systems.
College Degree in a related field and/or a minimum of three years of experience in corporate security or public safety preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible security experience.
Must have impeccable integrity, excellent interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills, as well as a strong knowledge of corporate security principles and practices.
Must have the ability to lift and receive packages/deliveries up to 50 pounds
Must have the ability to work 12 hour shifts
CPP, PSP or related certification highly desirable
